The Everton youth coach is planning to make big changes at development squad level, after what has been an indifferent season for the Toffees.
Many of Everton’s star youngsters have been called into the first-team, which has mean that Unsworth’s side’s results have been inconsistent.
The youth boss is now said to be hoping that he is given a budget to make additions for next season though.
Unsworth wants a defender, a midfielder and a striker added to strengthen his under-23 side.
Everton are expected to invest heavily in their first-team this summer, but Unsworth is hoping that some of the budget is kept over to bring in some potential stars of the future.
Everton’s under-23 side were beaten 3-1 by Liverpool last night, to further highlight the improvements that need to be made.
