Gareth Bale may have won La Liga once and the Champions League thrice with Real Madrid, but the former Tottenham Hotspur star’s time in Spain has not exactly been great.
There have been injury concerns, and when the Wales international winger has been fit, he has struggled to play regularly and has not been the starting lineup for major Champions League fixtures.
Plan to offload Gareth Bale
According to Don Balon, Spanish and European giants Madrid want to sell Bale in the summer transfer window, and hope to spark a bidding war between Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea.
The report has claimed that Perez’s plan is to start a bidding war for the former Southampton star among Tottenham, United and Chelsea in order to hike the price to €100m (£86.28m).
It is quite a smart plan from Perez, who will recoup the money Madrid spent as transfer fee - which was £85.3m, according to BBC Sport - to sign Bale from Tottenham in the summer of 2013 if he is successful.
