Leicester City's interest in Jack Grealish should concern Aston Villa

Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish has been in wonderful this season.

Aston Villa should be concerned after the Daily Mirror reported that Leicester City plan to sign Jack Grealish, if they fail to go up.

Villa reportedly may have to cash-in on Grealish, should they not earn promotion to the Premier League.

And losing Grealish would be a major blow to the Villains, if the youngster did depart.

With Leicester now circling, it is likely to start a bidding war for the prospect - who has shown his quality this season.

Grealish has proven just how much potential he has this term in Steve Bruce’s side, and it would be naive to think that Leicester will be the only team to move for the attacking midfielder.

The Foxes’ interest is likely to put other potential buyers on red alert, and that is bad news for Villa.

The claret and blues now badly need to earn promotion, if they are to keep hold of their current squad.

Sam Johnstone is another player who appears unlikely to stay at Villa, if they are not in the Premier League next season.

And if Villa are starting next season without Johnstone and Grealish in their starting line-up, then they will immediately be on the back foot in the race for promotion.

The pair have been two of Villa’s stars this term, and finding replacements for either would be very tough.

It just goes to put Bruce’s side under even more pressure to earn promotion through the play offs this season, otherwise the quality of their squad could be significantly reduced for next campaign.
