West Ham fans have been reacting on Twitter to the reports recently emerging from The Telegraph which have suggested that the Hammers are keen on West Brom striker Salomon Rondon in the summer.

Rondon looks set to have a relegation on his CV come the end of the campaign with the Baggies 10 points off safety in the Premier League and being written off by most when it comes to their chances of pulling off the most miraculous of escapes.

Should they go down, The Telegraph reports that any club will able to activate a clause in Rondon’s contract that will allow him to move for £16.5 million – and it appears that West Ham are lurking and considering a potential swoop with relegation appearing to be a formality at this stage.

David Moyes’ men arguably need to strengthen their striker options at the end of the campaign after a difficult campaign that could still result in a similar outcome to the one facing West Brom if results nosedive dramatically in the remaining weeks.

Presuming that West Ham stay up and Baggies do not, a number of Irons fans have taken to social media to comment on the reports linking them with a move for Rondon – and it appears that most would prefer the club to reconsider their plans.

Rondon’s record is modest at best. He is yet to reach double figures for league goals in a single campaign, and the supporters fear that he is no better than the options already at the club. Though, it must also be mentioned that a handful of fans believe that he would improve the squad – and be an upgrade on Andy Carroll – and thus, may be worth targeting this summer.
