Former Glasgow Rangers defender Clint Hill believes that Neil Warnock would be a success at Ibrox.

Rangers cult-hero Clint Hill has hinted on Twitter that Neil Warnock would be a success if he was ever appointed at Ibrox, while he also suggested that the Cardiff City boss speaks highly of the Gers.
Rangers are gearing up for an important summer as they look to end Celtic’s domestic dominance in the Scottish Premiership. And one of the decisions that the board face is whether to stick with Graeme Murty – whose contract expires at the end of the season – or make another appointment.

While talking about Warnock on Twitter, Hill – who needed just one season to make himself a hero with the Light Blues – was asked by a Rangers supporter whether the Bluebirds boss would be a success at Ibrox, while he told another fan that the 69-year-old holds the club in very high regard, though convincing him to leave promotion-chasing Cardiff would be a tall order.
It does seem unlikely that Warnock will end up leaving Cardiff in the coming months as things stand. The Bluebirds are in a fantastic position to secure automatic-promotion out of the second tier this term, and it would be incredibly surprising if Warnock was not still in charge on the opening day of next season.

While there is clearly some support for Warnock from the Rangers fans – including from Hill – it would also be a surprise if he ended up at Ibrox even if he lost his job at Cardiff for any reason.
He is one of the most polarising managers in the British game and there are likely to be a number of Gers fans who would be angered if the club made a move for the veteran boss, even if they do not want Murty to stay on.
But with Hill suggesting that Warnock speaks fondly of Rangers, and Murty’s contract coming to an end in the near future, perhaps the calls for him to be considered could increase over the coming months depending on what happens at Cardiff and at Ibrox.
