Liverpool have reportedly offered a deal to the talented young Monaco star.
According to a report from French media outlet L'Equipe, Liverpool have offered a contract to Monaco youngster Christian Koffi.
The 17-year-old is a deep-lying midfielder by trade, and excels at breaking up the opposition's attacking play.
Koffi was born in the Ivory Coast, but hold French citizenship, although he has not pledged his allegiance to either country yet.
L'Equipe claim that the Reds have identified the Monaco youngster as one for the future, and because he has not yet signed professional terms with the Ligue 1 outfit, Liverpool have been able to offer him a contract - one that is yet to be accepted.
Koffi is still yet to make a senior appearance for the French side, but he has appeared twice for their under-19 side in the UEFA youth league.
For someone so young, the Ivorian possesses an impressive physique, and plays with a certain kind of tenacity that would surely make him a huge hit in the Premier League.
With Emre Can set to leave Anfield in the summer, and James Milner on the wrong side of 32, central midfield will surely be an area where Jürgen Klopp wants to improve.
Whilst Koffi would not be considered as a signing for the here and now, he certainly could be one heck of the player for the future.
