Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers will have to wait a little longer to see Lee Wallace.

Lee Wallace of Rangers arrives at Celtic Park before the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Celtic and Rangers on September 10, 2016 in Glasgow.

Rangers fans on Twitter have reacted to the news of Lee Wallace’s latest setback in his return from injury.

A groin problem has kept Wallace on the sidelines since a 2-2 draw with Partick Thistle way back in September.

The Rangers captain was closing in on a long-awaited return, but The Scottish Sun reported this week that a “flare up” has delayed his comeback.

With the Gers scheduled to face Celtic in a massive Scottish Cup semi-final in 11 days, this isn’t what manager Graeme Murty needs.

And here is how some fans of the Ibrox club reacted to the disappointment.

Fortunately for Rangers, they do have Declan John to continue at left-back if Wallace isn’t fit to face the Hoops, with the Welshman proving to be one of the better signings that Pedro Caixinha made prior to his sacking in October.

Such is John’s impact, it remains to be seen if Wallace – who hasn’t played under Murty this season – will even come straight back into the first XI when he is fit, despite being club captain.
