Dennis Wise has refuted suggestions Tottenham Hotspur are London's number one club.

Spurs beat Chelsea 3-1 at the weekend, winning their first game at Stamford Bridge since 1990.

Tottenham are above both rivals Arsenal and Tottenham in the table, even though they are well short of league leaders Manchester City.

Dele Alli of Tottenham Hotspur and Cesc Fabregas of Chelsea during the Premier League match between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on April 1, 2018 in London, England.

Speaking to SkySports' The Debate (3/4 10pm), Wise explained why he does not feel that Spurs can be labelled as the top team in London.

He said: "In league position yes, but if you look at trophies over the last 10 years compared to Arsenal and Chelsea, no they are not.

"They are a in real decent position, progressed, and they are getting there, but I don't think they near Chelsea at the moment.

"They are in a bad situation [Chelsea] since January and Spurs have nicked that spot off of Chelsea, but it has happened before and Chelsea bounced back and won the league, so I cant say Spurs number one club."

Wise added that he was not even born when Tottenham last won the league, and expressed concerns whether Spurs could hold onto their top players and manage to keep Mauricio Pochettino at the club.

Tottenham can still address their trophy drought, as they are in the FA Cup semi-final later this month... and if they win, they will likely face Chelsea in the final.
