Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is understood to be one of the favourites to take over at Premier League relegation certainties West Bromwich Albion.

With six Premier League games remaining and ten points separating themselves and safety, West Bromwich Albion have finally bid farewell to Alan Pardew.
The decision has come far too late, you might argue, but at least this gives the Baggies time to prepare for next season and get a new manager in place to spearhead an immediate return to the Premier League.
The 46-year-old, who played at The Hawthorns between 2000 and 2003, has done an excellent job since taking charge of Aberdeen five years ago and has seemingly been lined up for a return to the Baggies.

And former Scotland international striker James McFadden believes it is very unlikely McInnes, who has rejected Sunderland and Rangers in the last year, will spurn his former side’s advances.
“If he gets offered the job, he’ll take it,” McFadden said in an interview with BBC Radio Scotland’s Sportsound.
“He turned down Sunderland – I can see why, it wasn’t in a great position, the club. He turned down Rangers – he’ll have his reasons for it.

“I just think that he’ll have the emotional pull of going back to his old club. He’ll have a chance to go and build something that’s his at West Brom.”
McInnes would face a difficult task at The Hawthorns, however, with the club seemingly mired in a worrying financial decision and with many of their key players, namely Ben Foster, Craig Dawson and Jay Rodriguez, tipped to leave at the end of this season.
