Aston Villa welcome Reading to Villa Park in the Championship tonight, for what will be a vitally important game for both sides, for very different reasons.

The Villans currently sit in fourth position in the Championship table, and are 10 points adrift of second placed Cardiff City, with only seven games remaining.

Steve Bruce manager of Aston Villa looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Birmingham City and Aston Villa at St Andrews on October 29, 2017 in Birmingham, England.

It could be argued that Steve Bruce's men need to win all of their remaining games, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of earning automatic promotion this season.

The Royals, meanwhile, are at the wrong end of the table, and currently sit in 19th spot, just five points clear of the drop zone.

Paul Clement manager

Paul Clement's side have won just one of their last 10 Championship outings, and three points against Villa tonight will be much-needed.

The Berkshire outfit won their last match, though, so they should be in fairly confident mood.

Villa are 4/7 favourites, according to SkyBET, whilst Reading can be backed at 19/4.

The game kicks off at 19:45, and with both teams in such desperate need of a victory, there should be a thrilling encounter on display in the west Midlands.
