The Valencia youngster is attracting attention from Liverpool, according to the Spanish pundit.

Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague claimed that Liverpool are keeping a close eye on talented Valencia youngster Ferran Torres, when writing his column for Sky Sports.

Jürgen Klopp will be keen to bolster his attacking ranks at Anfield in the summer, having still not brought in a replacement for Philippe Coutinho.

At just 18, Torres would obviously be a signing made with one eye on the future, rather than for the here and now, but he possesses the kind of talent that could see him one day become a real hero on Merseyside.

Balague, who has plenty of connections in Spain, suggested that the Reds have been monitoring Torres’ progress at Valencia this season, when writing his column for Sky Sports:

“He is 18 years old and did very well against France in the international break for Spain Under-19s even though they did not make the European Championships. He was the best player for Spain at Under-19 level and the only one playing regularly in the top division. He has played six out of the last seven games, 11 in total this season, and quite clearly Valencia want to keep him. They renewed his contract until 2020 and put in a buyout clause of 25m euros, but Liverpool and others are keeping a close eye on him. He is a dribbler, fast on the wing, can play on either wing, and he has got ability and intelligence. He can also play inside if needed, so he is a modern winger.”

The Valencia ace is a right winger by trade, but can operate anywhere along the front-line, and he possesses wonderful technical ability.

Torres has a buy-out clause inserted into his contract thought to be worth €25 million (£21.9 million), and that would represent excellent value for money for Liverpool.

Whilst he is nowhere near Coutinho’s level at the moment, he has the potential to reach the heights of the Brazilian.
