Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing the Hoffenheim ace.

According to a report from the Evening Standard, Liverpool will face stiff competition from Arsenal this summer in the race to sign Hoffenheim ace Kerem Demirbay.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has chalked up two goals and five assists in 23 outings for his club this season.

The Evening Standard claim that Arsenal are considering making an offer for the £20 million-rated ace this summer, so Liverpool will have to move quickly if they want to get their man.

The two-capped Germany international can play anywhere along the frontline, and following the sales of Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez in January, Arsenal are definitely in need of someone like Demirbay.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are still yet to replace Philippe Coutinho, and the Hoffenheim ace could be just the man for the job.

The Merseyside outfit could hold a huge advantage over the Gunners, however.

The Reds are almost certain to be playing in the Champions League next season, whereas the north London outfit’s only real hope of playing in Europe’s premier competition next term is to win this year’s Europa League.

With Arsenal reportedly preparing a bid for Demirbay, though, Liverpool will need to act fast and intensify their courtship of the German, if they want to secure a deal for him this summer.
