Paul Heckingbottom has suggested to Leeds Live that Jack Clarke could be given a chance in Leeds United’s first team, but he faces a lot of competition for a place.

Clarke has impressed for Leeds’ development side this season, and he put in a particularly eye catching performance in the Whites under 23’s last match.

The wide-man managed to claim two assists in a 3-0 victory against Cardiff City to earn great acclaim.

And Clarke has now been thrust right into starting contention for Leeds.

Heckingbottom said: “Possibly next one in, but he’s got a lot of competition in front of him.

“Done well for a long time though. Been performing well. Club need to manage him properly and there will come a time when he’s dipped into it.”

Leeds fans are frustrated that Heckingbottom hasn’t confirmed Clarke’s starting place, as they feel the youngster does not have much competition at all.

The Whites have very little left to play for, and Leeds fans want Clarke to be given a chance.

Leeds are next in action on Friday, when they take on Bolton Wanderers at Elland Road.
