Should Tottenham Hotspur make a move for Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window?

Ray Wilkins suggested on the Premier League Daily show on Sky Sports Premier League on Monday morning (10:54am, March 26, 2018) that Tottenham Hotspur should make a move for Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann in the summer transfer window.

The former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder said: “Griezmann is on the horizon out there. What great addition that would be, with a new stadium coming in, someone like Griezmann.”

This is not the first time that former Rangers and Queens Park Rangers star Wilkins has suggested that Tottenham should sign Griezmann.

Back in June 2017, Wilkins told Sky Sports that Spurs should make a move for the France international (click here to read more).

Blockbuster signing

Griezmann is one of the best forwards on the planet and is a world-class player.

The Atletico star would be a blockbuster signing for Tottenham and would strengthen their chances of winning the Premier League title next season.

A proven goalscorer, the former Real Sociedad star is also able to create chances and is very mobile.

Griezmann has scored 17 goals and provided eight assists in 26 La Liga appearances for Atletico so far this season, according to WhoScored.

During the 2016-17 campaign, the 27-year-old forward scored 16 goals and provided eight assists in 36 league fixtures for the Madrid club, according to WhoScored

The problem that Tottenham could face in signing Griezmann is that Atletico are going to demand a massive transfer fee, and the forward’s wages are also going to be very high.
