Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with a move for Napoli’s Amadou Diawara.

The agent of Napoli midfielder Amadou Diawara has told Radio CrC that the speculation of a move to Tottenham Hotspur has come at the worst possible time.
Diawara, 20, was born in Guinea but started out his career in the Italian lower leagues with San Marino, before earning a 2015 move to Bologna.
After one superb campaign there, Diawara moved to Napoli in the summer of 2016, and whilst he has been touted for a huge future, his time at the Stadio San Paolo has been somewhat frustrating.

Diawara has found himself stuck behind Allan, Jorginho, Marek Hamsik and Piotr Zielinski in the pecking order under Maurizio Sarri, and has started just 10 games in all competitions this season.
The midfielder may choose to leave Napoli this summer in order to pursue more playing time, and new rumours suggest that a move to the Premier League could be on the cards.
Corriere Dello Sport report that Tottenham have set their hearts on signing Diawara this summer, with the intention of him eventually succeeding Mousa Dembele in the heart of the Spurs midfield.
Napoli have allegedly begun negotiations with Sampdoria for Lucas Torreira as a replacement, but Diawara’s agent is playing down talk of a move to England.

Agent Daniele Piraino has told Radio CrC that the rumours are unsettling Diawara at such a crucial time as Napoli pursue the Serie A title, whilst he added that there is no release clause in the player’s contract at all, and Diawara loves Naples too.
“Tottenham want Diawara? These voices at this time are having a destabilising effect on Amadou so close to the end of the championship,” said Piraino. “I don’t know who is starting these rumours but the timing could not be worse.”
“It does not exist, not in Italy or abroad. There has been no contact with Tottenham or with any other clubs in Europe. He has three years of his contract remaining and he is very happy in Naples. He loves the city and the fans and hopes he can help them win the Scudetto at the end of the season,” he added.
