Phil Jagielka has urged his Everton teammates to build upon their victory at the weekend and finish the season strongly.
The Toffees defeated the Seagulls 2-0 at Goodison Park thanks to an own goal from Gaetan Bong only for January arrival Cenk Tosun to net his second strike in two games to seal all three points for the home side.
As it stands, Everton currently sit ninth in the table and, to be fair to the squad, besides the top six only Burnley, who have had an excellent season under Sean Dyche, and Leicester, recent Premier League champions, sit above them.
Jagielka, 35, has called on his Everton teammates to rally together and see out the remaining games in a similar dominant fashion, to give their deserving fans something to cheer for.
Speaking to Everton TV, the 35-year-old said: "We got a bit of momentum during [last weekend's] game. We got the fans involved – putting Brighton under pressure, getting a lot of corners, having a few shots on target and winning a few tackles.
"This is what we, as players, must look to do in every single game."
Jagielka went on to praise the club's January signing Tosun, who he believes will have a huge role to play in the future success of the team.
"It was fantastic for Cenk to get his second goal in two games," the Everton captain added, "Hopefully we can get a bit of momentum now. We need to finish the season off as strong as possible and put down a few markers for the start of next season."
