Aston Villa fans have slated Conor Hourihane, after his performance against Queens Park Rangers last night.
Hourihane was selected to start for Villa in the contest, but was unable to make much of an impact on the match.
The Republic of Ireland international failed to impress, as Villa slipped to a shock 3-1 defeat in front of their own supporters.
The claret and blues had put themselves in contention to make the automatic promotion places, but last night’s defeat was a major blow to their chances.
Villa are now seven points behind second placed Cardiff City, and only a sequence of victories will put them back in with a chance of avoiding the play offs.
Some Villa fans are now hoping that Hourihane doesn’t have a big part to play over the run-in, as they feel Steve Bruce has better options available to him.
Hourihane is pathetic at times. Bottles absolutely everything. Guy was on the floor and still Hourihane lost the tackle. Lightweight.— Aston Villa Daily (@AVFC_Daily) March 14, 2018
Some of our players need a rest for sure....Jedinak and Hourihane looked very jaded in midfield.....Bjarnason and Lansbury on Sat to freshen midfield up #avfc— Tom Lamb (@lambo_1986) March 13, 2018
Hourihane was shameful but Bruce will start him on Saturday— Harry Johnson (@avfc_johnson) March 13, 2018
It's certainly time Hourihane is dropped for Lansbury. He's usuelsls. He can't take or pass forwards— Harry Johnson (@avfc_johnson) March 13, 2018
How Hourihane managed to stay on for 80 minutes is beyond me, he’d shy away from a tackle in an U’7s game, pathetic #avfc— Phil Hodson (@Hodsie) March 13, 2018
Hourihane needs to be dropped— Chels (@chels15avfc) March 13, 2018
Conor Hourihane spent 81 minutes watching Grealish do what he is supposed to be doing. Pathetic display.— Glenn Morris (@GlennMorris_) March 13, 2018
Villa are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Bolton Wanderers at the Macron Stadium.
