Aston Villa are reportedly keen on Bristol City’s Joe Bryan – along with the likes of Everton and Newcastle.
According to The Sun, Aston Villa are interested in signing Bristol City left back Joe Bryan – if they win promotion to the Premier League this season.
Villa continued their push for the top flight with a 4-1 thumping of Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers, and will surely at least be in the play-offs this term.
Manager Steve Bruce may have two lists of transfer targets for the summer, one for the Premier League and one for the Championship, with Bryan now allegedly on the list if promoted.
The left back has starred for Bristol City this season with three goals and two assists, and looks set for a move to the top flight if the Robins can’t land promotion themselves this season.
A potential coup for Villa
Neil Taylor hasn’t quite nailed down the left back spot for Villa this season, and that may lead manager Bruce to consider other options, such as Bryan.
The 24-year-old has emerged as arguably the top left back in the Championship, possessing superb pace and attacking ability, whilst he has also been steady defensively, leaving him set for the Premier League.
Villa would be landing a major coup if they could add Bryan to their defence upon promotion, especially given the rival interest in his signature.
The Mirror reported in January that Everton, Newcastle and Brighton wanted Bryan in a £7million swoop, and if Villa can beat any of those Premier League clubs to his signature, then it could be one of the signings of the summer.
