Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to slam Laurens De Bock’s display during the Whites’ draw with Reading that has dealt Paul Heckingbottom’s men’s play-off hopes another blow.

Leeds went into the game with the Royals off the back of 3-0 defeats to Middlesbrough and Championship leaders Wolves, but they would have still had some confidence given that they were coming up against another of the division’s woefully out of form sides.

Nevertheless, it was Reading that took the lead during the first-half and they would have been disappointed that they did not score more than once. The visitors largely had Bailey Peacock-Farrell to thank for ensuring that the scoreline did not quickly become worse.

The Whites would get the equaliser before the break and take the lead soon after through Pontus Jansson and Pablo Hernandez respectively, but Reading would ensure that the points would be shared.

There were some encouraging performances amongst the Leeds squad, but there were also a number of players who would have been disappointed with their displays – and amongst them would have surely been De Bock.

The £1.5 million January signing (via Yorkshire Evening Post) was dropped after the draw with Derby County last month, but was given another chance – that many would have preferred to see go to either Tyler Denton or Tom Pearce – but he provided few indications that suggested that he was ready to bounce back from his poor start.

De Bock put Leeds under pressure on a couple of occasions with poor passes. And despite earning a little praise amongst the supporters for improving in the second-half, the general consensus was extremely negative with many convinced that he is going to prove another Victor Orta signing that is going to be a disappointment.

Here is the best of the reaction…
