Tottenham Hotspur scouts were reportedly in the stands as Koln suffered defeat to Stuttgart.

German newspaper Bild have claimed Tottenham Hotspur sent scouts to watch Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard in action against Koln on Sunday afternoon.

Pavard, 21, has been a mainstay of Stuttgart’s side this season despite his young age, featuring at centre-back, right-back and even in holding midfield for Tayfun Korkut’s side.

Moving to Stuttgart from France in the summer of 2016, Pavard has even won two senior France caps for the national side as he continues to shine in the top tier of German football for Stuttgart.

He made the interesting move to join Stuttgart from Ligue 1 side Lille, leaving behind his home country to prove his worth in a different style of football in Germany. It has paid dividends, and now he could be set to shine in another country.

Mauricio Pochettino reportedly sent scouts to Germany to watch Pavard, with his contract at Stuttgart with more than three season remaining on his current deal at Stuttgart.

Long-term Alderweireld replacement?

Toby Alderweireld is yet to be offered a new deal in north London, and has just one more season remaining on his contract at Wembley with European sides becoming reportedly interested.

So, does the interest in Pavard, suggest that Belgium international Alderweireld could be set to leave the club?
