Defeat to Juventus was tough on Tottenham.

It was a last 16 game which felt like a semi-final and elimination for Tottenham Hotspur hurt like it.
The North London side were beaten by Juventus 2-1 at Wembley, giving up a half-time lead.

Tottenham lost 4-3 on aggregate and their only remaining hope of silverware this season is the FA Cup.
Former Spurs player and manager Ossie Ardiles sent a message to supporters reminding them to be upbeat despite the disappointing defeat.
Ardiles is right that Spurs should be positive that they have stepped forward from last season, when they failed to get out of the group stages.
But this side was capable of going further in the competition and it was uncharacteristic defensive lapses which cost them.
Tottenham’s ‘next game’ as Ardiles points to is a Premier League tie away to Bournemouth.
This will be followed by an away game at Swansea in the FA Cup quarter-finals. That has suddenly become even more of a ‘must win’ fixture than it already was.
