It looks like Newcastle United might have missed their best chance to sign Garry Rodrigues.

According to Turkish outlet Gunes, Newcastle failed with a £7 million bid for the Galatasaray winger in January.

But considering the Magpies also wanted him last summer, it was possible that manager Rafael Benitez would renew his interest when the summer transfer window opens.

But is it too late?

Rodrigues's agent told Calciomercato on Wednesday: "Garry is improving every day with Galatasaray but I think there’s a chance he could go to either Inter or Milan."

Talking up Inter Milan and AC Milan is slightly ominous for United because not only are they both more prestigious clubs, but both Italian giants could blow Newcastle out of the water in regards to a bidding war.

The 27-year-old winger has impressed with the Turkish side this season, netting six goals in 19 starts and it seems probable that Newcastle will have to fight with bigger fish, if they go back this summer.
