Arsenal's Petr Cech didn't have a good day this afternoon.
The Gunner slipped 13 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham after losing 2-1 at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Goals from Lewis Dunk and Glenn Murray sent Arsenal two goals behind within 26 minutes following a nightmare start for the visitors at The Amex Stadium.
The Czech goalkeeper was questionable for both goals and the Premier League legend took to Twitter afterwards to apologise for the errors.
If you want to win a game away of home in the best league in the world your GK can’t concede 2 goals like I did today ... it’s simply not possible ... The team fought back but the damage was done .— Petr Cech (@PetrCech) March 4, 2018
Suffice to say that many fans of the North London club weren't in a forgiving mood and plenty proceeded to slaughter the 35-year-old on social media.
Bro just STFU. You make a mistake every game and then come out and apologise. STFU— Soroosh (@SorooshA) March 4, 2018
would've been nice if he held his hands up a bit more convincingly at that corner though— Jiggy (@Jackel_Ramzilla) March 4, 2018
You're tweeting already?— Es (@slkie) March 4, 2018
I accept your apology pal, please leave our club— Pavan (@pavanmann1) March 4, 2018
Hahaha! Nice banter lad, now where's the apology?— Danny Welbeck (@WelBeast) March 4, 2018
Wrong mentality Petr... you need to fight... anything is possible in 90 minutes.— Liam Edwards (@Ed_7991) March 4, 2018
Retire xx— Tom Precious (@tom_precious) March 4, 2018
That being said, a number of Arsenal supporters also praised Cech - a £10 million signing from Chelsea in 2015 - for taking responsibility.

At least you have the balls to say it. Top man Cech.— Ha$$ (@SupaAuba) March 4, 2018
At least you admit your mistakes unlike others Petr.— GoonerViews (@GoonerViews) March 4, 2018
Much as I think you're not good enough anymore Cech, massive respect to you for saying this. Maybe the goalkeeping coach isn't good enough too.— Lets Talk Arsenal™ (@ltarsenal) March 4, 2018
