According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a shock raid for Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus – but Liverpool are also tracking his situation.
Reus, 28, has been a star for Dortmund ever since his 2012 move from Borussia Monchengladbach, thriving with his hometown and former club whilst becoming a hero at Signal Iduna Park.
The German international winger has hit 91 goals in 193 games for Dortmund, but seen his recent years ravaged by injury, and he is now believed to be stalling on a new contract with the club.
Klopp v Pochettino
Reus could be an ambitious addition to the Tottenham side ahead of the opening of their new stadium, though whether he would truly be needed after the addition of Lucas Moura is another matter.
Spurs have the likes of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-min, Erik Lamela and now Moura in the attacking midfield or wide areas, and adding Reus could give Pochettino some real headaches and make his squad a little unbalanced.
Pochettino would also face a fascinating battle with Liverpool boss Klopp, given that he coached Reus at Borussia Dortmund, catapulting him to stardom with the Bundesliga giants.
Reus may be tempted by a reunion with his former manager, with Spurs possibly hoping that a move to London – and their new stadium – can help them in the race for Reus.
