Monk, who has been linked with the Birmingham City position, left Middlesbrough before Christmas.

Birmingham City supporters are reacting on Twitter to speculation linking them with a move for former Middlesbrough manager Garry Monk.
According to the Sun [February 28th, printed edition], both Monk and another ex-Middlesbrough boss, Gordon Strachan, are in the running to take the Birmingham post – if Steve Cotterill is relieved of his duties at St Andrew’s.

Cotterill, who was only appointed as Harry Redknapp’s successor last September, has overseen four successive Championship defeats which have left the Blues two points adrift of safety in 22nd position.
Many Birmingham fans have called for Cotterill’s sacking in recent weeks, and it would appear that several would be keen to replace him with Monk, who managed Leeds United to seventh last season before his ill-fated Riverside spell.

Here’s what they’re saying on Twitter…
Monk, who also had a spell as Swansea City’s manager in the Premier League, was dismissed by Middlesbrough two days before Christmas, with Boro ninth in the table.
Would Monk be a good appointment for Birmingham City?
