The Cape Verde international has been in fine form for Galatasaray this season.
Newcastle United and Everton are both said to be in the hunt for Galatasaray winger Garry Rodrigues this summer.
Newcastle have already made two approaches for the Cape Verde international. Turkish Football claim that Galatasaray rejected a £6 million bid from the Tyneside giants in August. A report from Gunes recently stated that Newcastle saw a second offer for Rodrigues turned down once again in January.
It is understood that the Magpies offered £7 million this time for the 27-year-old winger.
According to Turkish publication Fotomac, Everton have also been keeping tabs on the player this season and the same report claimed he now has an asking price of around £18 million.
His agent has now come out to speak about the interest in his client. Speaking to Futbol Arena his representative Ceylan Caliskan has stated:
“Many clubs in Europe are watching Garry Rodrigues, but he’s very happy at Galatasaray.”
Rodrigues, who joined the Turkish giants from PAOK Salonika last January and has been in fine form for Gala since making the move.
With that in mind they will not want to sell the player, but Newcastle and Everton could both take advantage of the club’s precarious Financial Fair Play position to bring the Cape Verde international to the Premier League.
But even if they were to agree a deal with his club it seems he is happy to stay exactly where he is and play European football at the Turkish side.
Time will tell if Everton or Newcastle can manage to pry Rodrigues away from Istanbul in the summer but it certainly seems to look unlikely at present.
