John Terry has been a hit at Championship giants Aston Villa but a return to former club Chelsea could appeal with Stamford Bridge beckoning.

Chelsea obviously felt that John Terry did not have a lot left to offer when they let his contract expire at the end of last season.
However the 37-year-old centre-back has proved that talk of his demise have been greatly exaggerated with a fine season at Aston Villa, albeit in the division below.
Terry’s leadership and experience have been key as Steve Bruce’s side recovered from a worrying start to the season to sit second in mid-February, a run of seven straight Championship wins making them the favourites to secure the automatic promotion position behind runaway leaders Wolves.

But if Villa do return to the Premier League, there is no guarantee that Terry will take part.
It is understood that Terry, who spent 20 years at Chelsea and captained the London club to five Premier League titles, dreams of managing the side in the future and believes the best way to go about achieving his ambition is to start at the bottom and progressing through the coaching ranks.

Current manager Antonio Conte has been widely tipped to leave in the summer and a reshuffle of the coaching department could open up a space for Terry to make a return to Stamford Bridge.
But according to the Mirror, Villa have not given up hope of hanging on to the evergreen defender. Steve Bruce will offer Terry a contract if they go up this season.
