Tottenham earned an excellent draw against Juventus in Turin.
Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Glenn Hoddle has told BT Sport that Christian Eriksen produced his best performance in a Spurs shirt against Italian champions Juventus on Tuesday night.
The 26-year-old lined-up alongside Mousa Dembele and Eric Dier in the middle of the park, as Mauricio Pochettino opted to use a system that included Erik Lamela out wide.
It suited the Dane to a tee, as he caused Juve problems throughout the match with his intricate passing and astounding vision when looking to split open a defence that had previously conceded just one goal in 16 games.
He even found the back of the net with a clever free-kick, as he hit the ball low to escape the Juventus wall. Hoddle described his performance as "outstanding".
"That's the best game I've see him play against top quality opposition," Hoddle said. "I think he's been very good against some of the mid-table teams, but this is top quality and he was outstanding."
The goal was Eriksen's ninth of the season in all competitions, as he continues to score from deep as well as adding eight assists for the north Londoners.
The former Ajax star has given his side their best chance of qualifying for the last eight of the Champions League, after the two away goals give Spurs the advantage when Juve come to London on March 7.
Eriksen could now be rested as Spurs face rock-bottom League One side Rochdale on Sunday afternoon in the fifth round of the FA Cup, with Mauricio Pochettino likely to hand a chance to his Tottenham fringe players.
