Davy Klaassen has been ostracised by Everton manager Sam Allardyce.

Davy Klaassen's chances of game time at Everton under Sam Allardyce seem to get thinner and thinner the longer the 2017-18 season goes on - and Toffees fans have asked why he is not in the under-23 squad.

The 24-year-old has been afforded just 13 Everton matches this season, 20 less than 19-year-old Tom Davies, following his £25million summer move from Dutch Europa League finalists Ajax.

He captained the side to a final against Man United and was expected to shine on Merseyside following his hefty price tag, but instead he has flopped in the blue of Everton.

However, David Unsworth is yet to use the Holland international in his reserve side, despite Klaassen's inability to be included in a Premier League matchday squad since September.

Everton fans have questioned why the playmaker is not being included in Unsworth's side, as they believe he needs to be given game time in some form if he is to eventually repay the money paid for him.

One fan described it as a "strange case" while others blamed manager Sam Allardyce for leaving Klaassen to rot, as Unsworth's second string beat Barnsley 1-0 on Monday night with the help of Ramiro Funes Mori and Mason Holgate.
