Terry has helped Aston Villa to five straight league wins since his return to action last month.
Aston Villa supporters are urging their club to extend John Terry's contract at Villa Park.
Terry signed an initial one-year deal after his release by Chelsea last summer, and has become a fans favourite in recent weeks.
The 37-year-old sat out the best part of two months with a fractured metatarsal but has helped Aston Villa to five straight league wins since his return to fitness at the start of January.
According to the Telegraph, Terry's contract contains a mutual 12-month extension option, although the newspaper adds the former England captain will delay any decision on his future until the end of the season in May.
The Villans' recent run has seen them climb into the automatic promotion places, and leaves an emotional reunion between Terry and first club Chelsea looking likely next season - should the Villa Park skipper extend his stay in Birmingham.
However, some Aston Villa fans are willing to bend over backwards to get Terry signed up ASAP.
Here's what they are saying about his future on Twitter...
Sign him up! If we do go up, personally dont mind him sitting out the Chelsea games, he’ll give 110% in the other 36 games— Matt (@mattyk74) 12 February 2018
I have to say I wasn’t a JT fan but having seen the passion after yesterday’s win I’m a JT convert....sort out a new contract doctor Tony— tonyb (@Cornishavfc) 12 February 2018
Another year easily. Maybe offer to help him with the coaching stuff to keep him on. Could be our future manager (stepping stone to Chelsea)— ODB (@ODB_69) 12 February 2018
Give him a 5 year contract— simonhateley (@simonchateley) 12 February 2018
Fuck that, double his fuxkin' wages and tie him up with another 2 years. Give Hutton a contract just to drive Terry back and forth to training. Do it!!— Basil's Wrathbone ⚽ (@properwazzock) 12 February 2018
JT has 2-3 more years at Premier League level. Anyone who disagrees should quit football and watch rowing instead because you haven't got a clue you miserable sods. JT is a Rolls Royce and he loves our club.— Gregory's Goals (@GregoryGoals) 13 February 2018
Yes for sure, I would even give him 2 days off on the days we play Chelsea in return for what he’s done for us this season, the Man has been sensational #AVFC— Martin Skelton (@MartinSkel_) 12 February 2018
In the competition for 'the daftest question of the year,' all betting has just been suspended!!!!— nrf1@avfc (@tytheevillan) 12 February 2018
Maybe if the club offered him a coach / player role that might interest him as I think management will be next for JT— andy (@andy59967602) 13 February 2018
It's a no brainer for me to offer JT another year if we go up , no he can't play 38 games but realistically he doesn't have to .. if he's fine for 19/20 games then that's more than worth the risk #AVFC— therowleyranger (@therowleyranger) 12 February 2018
Give JT a new contract— Chez Avfc (@AvfcUTV1) 12 February 2018
Will Terry still be an Aston Villa player next season?
