Latest West Ham United arrival Patrice Evra appears to be loving life on his first day training with his new club.

The East London club picked the Manchester United legend up on a free transfer yesterday, agreeing a deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the season.

The five-time Premier League champion had his contract terminated by Marseille earlier this season, after an incident which involved an altercation with a fan during the warm up before a Europa League tie.

With ex-United boss David Moyes offering his former player a shot at redemption, Evra cannot wait to repay the faith shown in him by the Scotsman and is buzzing to be back training with a squad again.

Evra will bring some much valued experience to the West Ham dressing room, and the likes of Aaron Cresswell and compatriot Arthur Masuaku will be relishing the opportunity to learn as much as possible from the French veteran.

Despite Evra's experience and footballing pedigree, however, his addition to the squad has been met with a mixed reception from the Hammers fans.

Some appear to be delighted at the capture and took to Twitter to express their delight, hoping that he can inject some of his optimism into the squad. Others, have simply ridiculed the signing, and cannot seem to understand why Moyes is taking a punt on the 36-year-old who has barely played any football this season.
