Joe Wildsmith's Sheffield Wednesday career has not been without its mistakes - the most recent of which arrived in Saturday's defeat against Birmingham City.

But Wildsmith must not dwell on his latest error - after all, he was not the only Wednesday player culpable against the Blues - and should instead seek inspiration from a flawless January in his ongoing quest to become the Owls' permanent number one.

According to Opta, the 22-year-old kept three clean sheets and made 17 saves, including a penalty, in four Championship outings last month - all of which are the most of any goalkeeper in the division.

And it is perhaps no surprise to see Wildsmith consequently named in Whoscored's second tier team of the month - after accruing an impressive average score of 7.5.

Should Wildsmith keep his place for Sheffield Wednesday against old club Barnsley this weekend?
