As reported by Football365, Football.London and The Daily Mail, West Ham co-chairman Sullivan has revealed that the London outfit made a bid of £25 million for Stoke City midfielder Allen on January transfer deadline day.
Stoke are struggling for survival in the Premier League this season - just like West Ham - and one can understand why they did not part company with the former Swansea City and Liverpool midfielder, even for £25m.
West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to recent comments made by club co-chairman Sullivan about a bid for Allen.
Below are some of the best comments:
So Sullivan says he offered £25m for Joe Allen when Dendonker was available for £20m and what did we offer for him £4.4m this season and £8.8m next season.....— Philip 父 Wilkinson 父 (@PW57WHU) 6 February 2018
Does he really think the realwesthamfans believe him.???
£25m for Joe Allen! Is Sullivan f..king serious? Shows just how out of touch he is compated with the fans expectations/ambitions. Appears to have overlooked a couple of potentislly cheaper better players. Sort it out Sullivan, or sell and get out @ExWHUemployee thoughts?— PSW2004 (@whu_paul) 5 February 2018
Sullivan should just keep quiet and that would limit half the damage he does ⚒— Trevor Dean (@Mistermiggs) 5 February 2018
We failed with that bid so just gave up on him and all other players then?!?!— Kris Johnson (@kjohno10) February 6, 2018

Yeah course he did! A bit like the time we was going to sign a 100k a week striker but ended up with Mido! If this is true surely they emails they can release to show all the bids made!?! He wants unity then deliver on the promises or don’t make any #boardout— Moggy (@JMoggy36) February 5, 2018

2.5 million over 10 years....i might believe that— J Pereira (@IronsManJP) February 5, 2018
Why can’t he just be quiet? Especially now— Need To Voice (@Need_To_Voice) February 5, 2018
£25m for Joe Allen? Another example that there is no plan, no strategy, no forethought. If I ran my work like these clowns I'd be sacked within weeks. An absolute shambles.— Spencer (@spencermatt) February 5, 2018
