West Ham United wanted to sign Stoke City midfielder Joe Allen on January transfer deadline day.

West Ham United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to recent comments made by club co-chairman David Sullivan about Joe Allen.
As reported by Football365, Football.London and The Daily Mail, West Ham co-chairman Sullivan has revealed that the London outfit made a bid of £25 million for Stoke City midfielder Allen on January transfer deadline day.
Given that the Wales international is still at Stoke, it is clear that the Potters turned down the offer from the Hammers.

Stoke are struggling for survival in the Premier League this season – just like West Ham – and one can understand why they did not part company with the former Swansea City and Liverpool midfielder, even for £25m.
The Hammers are 12th in the Premier League table at the moment, while the Potters are currently third from bottom in the standings.
