West Ham fans are seething with co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold after another transfer window failure while Sunderland fans have their own problems with the club in danger of relegation to League One.

Hammers fans are angry after the club signed only Joao Mario on a short-term loan from Inter Milan and little known striker Jordan Hugill from Championship side Preston.

Former Sunderland boss David Moyes had wanted to bring in three of four quality players to help the East Londoners stave off relegation in an increasingly congested Premier League.

And links to injury-prone former Sunderland midfielder Jan Kirchhoff - as exclusively reported by well-placed Hammers news website KUMB.com - as a post deadline free transfer signing have been met with a mixed reaction.

Kirchhoff, a former Bayern Munich utility player, has not played a football match since 2016 and has suffered a string of career-threatening injuries which ended his time with the Black Cats.

But KUMB's report claims he is being considered by the Hammers following their hugely disappointing window.
