HITC Sport understands Fulham forward set for Rochdale loan.

Highly-rated Fulham forward Stephen Humphrys is set to join Rochdale on loan, HITC Sport understands.

Humphrys is highly regarded within the corridors of power at Fulham having been a prolific scorer for Fulham at Under-16, Under-18, and PL2 level since his arrival from Bury in the summer of 2013

The 20-year-old broke into Slavisa Jokanovic’s first-team last season making three first-team appearances before spending the second half of last season out on loan at Shrewsbury Town where he scored twice in 14 games.

Humphrys has not featured in Jokanovic’s first-team plans so far this term and Fulham are happy to loan him out for the second half of the season so that he can continue his development by playing regular first-team football

A number of Football League clubs have expressed an interest in taking Humphrys on loan, but Rochdale are in pole position to land the striker.

Rochdale boss Keith Hill has been searching for a new striker as he looks to steer his side to safety in League One and he sees Humphrys as a key addition to his plans.
