Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman has been linked with Aberdeen in the January transfer window.

It has been reported that the Scottish Premiership club are looking at Woodman as a replacement for the injured Joe Lewis.
The report has also claimed that the 20-year-old could head to Aberdeen on loan from Premier League side Newcastle until the end of the season.

Woodman is a very talented and promising young goalkeeper, and it would make sense for the England Under-21 international to move to Aberdeen on a short-term loan deal.
The youngster has already played in Scotland with Kilmarnock, and he knows what to expect from Scottish football.

Aberdeen are unlikely to catch Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership table this season, but Derek McInnes’s side are very much in the running for the runners-up spot – they are third in the standings, level on points with second-placed Rangers.
As for Newcastle, Rafael Benitez’s side are struggling for survival in the Premier League and could find themselves in the Championship next season.
