It has been reported by the Italian news outlet that Leeds had scouts present to watch the striker during Carpi’s match against Spezia at Stadio Sandro Cabassi in Serie B on Saturday afternoon.
The 25-year-old former Padova striker scored in the 69th minute, as Biancorossi won the match 2-1.
While Leeds may have interest in signing the striker in the January transfer window, Tuttomercatoweb.com has claimed that Carpi will do any business only in the summer of 2018.
The West Yorkshire outfit do need to sign a striker in order to enhance their chances of finishing in the top six of the Championship this season.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga has been hot and cold so far this season, while Jay-Roy Grot has yet to adapt to the rigours of the Championship.
Thomas Christiansen’s side are ninth in the Championship table at the moment with 43 points from 28 matches, five points behind sixth-placed Fulham, who have a game in hand.
