Newport County play host to Tottenham Hotspur in the fourth round of the FA Cup tomorrow.
Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas predicted the outcome of tomorrow’s FA Cup clash between Newport County and Spurs at Rodney Parade, when writing his regular prediction column for Sky Sports.
Tottenham head into the game as heavy favourites, but they will be in for a tough afternoon against the League Two side, who will surely bring a physical and aggressive approach to the match.
Newport have not lost a game since Boxing Day, and they currently sit in eighth spot in the League Two table, one point adrift of the play-off places.
Spurs are on a decent run themselves, and have not lost since their 4-1 defeat at Manchester City on December 16th.
Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas explained why he envisages a fairly straightforward afternoon for Tottenham against their League Two counterparts tomorrow, when writing his prediction column for Sky Sports:
“It was a bit of a stumble at Southampton last weekend for Spurs and if they thought that pitch was in bad condition then they are in for a brutal experience here. I expect Fernando Llorente to start with Harry Kane rested ahead of the massive game with Manchester United on Wednesday. You need to take the FA Cup seriously from the start and even if they make four or five changes that is not that significant given the opposition. The embarrassment can wreck your season and Mauricio Pochettino will make his team fully aware of that.”
Prediction: Newport County 0-4 Tottenham
Mauricio Pochettino will surely rest some of his key players with their huge game against Manchester United coming just four days after their clash with Newport, but whoever takes to the field of play will have to be 100 per cent on their game, if Spurs are to avoid an FA Cup giant killing.
