Everton fans have asked the club to go and sign Swansea City defender Alfie Mawson after his latest performance.

When Everton were linked with a move for Swansea’s £25 million-rated defender Alfie Mawson by the Daily Mirror earlier in the month, Toffees fans would have been forgiven for looking at the Premier League table and feeling that they should be looking at better players.
Mawson has been one of the Swans’ best performers since his arrival at the Liberty Stadium, but his team are bottom of the division and many would have been forgiven for predicting that they would be one of the teams to head down into the Championship this term.

However, after Mawson’s latest display, a number of Everton fans are now urging their club to go out and get the centre-back signed before the end of the window.
Though that may not be that great a surprise given the opposition.

Swansea moved themselves to within three points of safety on Monday night as they beat Liverpool 1-0 in south Wales, and it was Mawson who separated the two teams as he scored the game’s only goal five minutes before half-time. He also played a crucial role in helping the Swans hold onto their lead with some brilliant defending in the latter stages of the game.
Given the opposition and the fact that Everton’s defence has looked incredibly vulnerable lately, several Toffees fans took to Twitter after the game to urge the board to go out and sign the 24-year-old.
