Everton reportedly watched French sides Lille and Rennes in action this week.

According to the Daily Mail, Everton sent scouts to watch Lille take on Rennes on Wednesday night as they consider transfer targets.

Lille have endured a tumultuous season having seen Marcelo Bielsa’s reign end prematurely, and they find themselves 18th in the Ligue 1 as Christophe Galtier attempts to turn their season around.

Lille were in action again on Wednesday night, as they hosted Rennes in Ligue 1, but they slipped to a 2-1 home defeat, as James Siliki and Benjamin Andre cancelled out Junior Alonso’s opener.

The Daily Mail now report that Premier League scouts were in attendance for the game, with Crystal Palace, Everton, Leicester City and Manchester City all allegedly watching the clash.

It’s claimed that City were watching Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare as they plot a move for the teenager, and a number of players fit the bill for Everton.

Sky Sports recently reported that Everton are considering a move for Lille centre back Adama Soumaoro, but he wasn’t even in the side for Wednesday’s defeat.

However, defender Ibrahim Amadou did play, and The Mirror recently suggested that Everton will challenge Crystal Palace for his signature, with the Cameroonian ace impressing this season.

Much like Soumaoro, another reported Everton target – Wahbi Khazri – missed out for Rennes, meaning that Amadou may well be the man Everton were watching in Lille’s 2-1 defeat.
