Burnley are close to completing a deal for Everton winger Aaron Lennon.

The Clarets are close to signing him for a nominal fee.

Everton boss Sam Allardyce has said in the press conference earlier that he would be looking to trim the squad after landing Theo Walcott for £20 million. He is now prepared to let Lennon go, and Burnley are long term admirers of the former Tottenham winger.
The 30-year-old, who earns a reported £55k-per-week wages contract at Goodison Park, feels he needs to quit the club despite making 19 appearances for the Blues this season.

Lennon wants to play regularly and is now heading towards Turf Moor. Burnley manager Sean Dyche tried to sign Lennon in the summer, but this time they have succeeded in luring him.
According to Lancashire Telegraph, the Clarets could complete the move over the weekend. The report adds that the two clubs are “set to come to an agreement”, and that talks of a “deal being agreed” is premature.
Lennon could become Burnley’s second signing of the January transfer window after they landed Tottenham winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou on loan last week.
