Tottenham Hotspur’s chances of landing Real Betis midfielder Fabian Ruiz are under threat as the Spanish side step up their attempts to keep him.
It is a fee which makes Ruiz a real bargain, and one which may not be active for much longer.
This is because Betis have become concerned by speculation linking Ruiz with a move away, as Roma also show interest.
The greatest priority however is to remove his current release clause, and Betis aim to add a new one into his contract.
The report states Betis are keen to put a clause in of 40 million Euros (£35m).
This fee might be enough to put off his admirers for now, but Ruiz is a player with the ability and potential to go on and make this fee look like a snip.
