Amanda Staveley says that she is still interested in taking over Newcastle United.
Staveley has stated that her PCP Capital Partners group still want to buy Premier League club Newcastle from current owner Mike Ashley.
The 44-year-old British businesswoman has also stated that manager Rafael Benitez will be a key figure in the new project.
Benitez has been in charge of Newcastle since March 2016 and is hugely popular among the St. James’ Park faithful.
Staveley told The Times: “I’m very much still interested in buying Newcastle. And our bid remains on the table.”
“Rafa is doing an incredible job,” added Staveley. “We want Rafa to be part of this project.”
It seems that Staveley’s PCP Capital Partners group are still interested in taking over Newcastle, and the club’s fans should be optimistic.
It would be better for the Magpies if the takeover deal goes through this month, as manager Benitez could have money to spend on players in the January transfer window.
Newcastle are struggling in the Premier League at the moment and are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
