HITC Sport understands Crystal Palace winger set for League One loan.

Sullay Kaikai in action for Crystal Palace against Brighton.

Crystal Palace winger Sullay Kaikai is poised to join Charlton Athletic on loan, HITC Sport understands.

The 22-year-old is currently down the pecking order in Roy Hodgson’s first-team plans and he is willing to loan him so that he can regular first-team action under his belt.

Kaikai has made four appearances for Palace this season with his last outing being as a substitute in the FA Cup defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this month.

The skilful attacker has come through the ranks at Palace and he is highly-regarded at Selhurst Park after scoring on his first-team debut against Newcastle in 2014.

Kaikai has enjoyed loan spells at Brentford and Shrewsbury over the last two seasons after previous spells at Crawley and Cambridge and Palace feel he would be best served by going out on loan again to continue his development.

A number of clubs have expressed an interest in taking Kaikai on loan for the second half of the season, but Charlton have moved quickly to agree a deal with their London rivals for the wide man.

Charlton boss Karl Robinson is looking to add to his side’s attacking options as he looks to maintain their push for promotion from League One and he sees Kaikai as a vital addition to his plans at the Valley.
