Scottish Premiership champions Celtic may be willing to sell Jozo Simunovic with Premier League trio Leicester City, Burnley and Crystal Palace all interested.

Jozo Simunovic of Celtic celebrates after he scores during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Dundee and Celtic at Dens Park Stadium on March 19, 2017 in Dundee, Scotland.

Celtic are shaking up their central defensive options this month. Marvin Compper has arrived and Erik Sviatchenko has departed, the Dane joining former club FC Midtjylland on loan until the end of the season.

And there could still be more movement in and out of Parkhead. Like Sviatchenko, Jozo Simunovic has been heavily linked with a move away in recent weeks and his potential departure would certainly swell the coffers.

As reported by the Daily Record, Crystal Palace were willing to offer £8 million for the Bosnian, which was close to the fee Celtic would consider doing business for.

The Mirror stated that Burnley were also interested, yet there is another Premier League team who appear to have now joined the race.

According to The Sun (16th January, page 52), Leicester City are also interested in signing Simunovic this month, with the paper even going as far as to label them the front runners to sign the former Dinamo Zagreb defender this month.

Whether their sudden interest in Simunovic has anything to do with speculation surrounding the future of Harry Maguire, reportedly a £50 million target for Manchester City, remains to be seen.

But this is not the first time Leicester have expressed an interest in a Celtic centre-back. Back in January 2017, the Foxes tried to lure Sviatchenko to the King Power, only for the defender to state that he was happy at Celtic, as reported by the Scottish Sun.

One year on, however, Leicester are hoping to raid the Scottish Champions again. But you can expect Crystal Palace to provide serious competition after losing influential defender Scott Dann for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.
