Tottenham Hotspur are yet to make an addition in the January transfer window.
Rio Ferdinand has told BT Sport, during their live coverage of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Everton, that there are three players available, who Mauricio Pochettino’s side should go after this month.
Ferdinand wants Spurs to build on the current squad they have in place, and he feels that Yannick Carrasco, Julian Draxler and Riyad Mahrez would all make brilliant additions.
Carrasco, Draxler and Mahrez have all been linked with moves away from their clubs in recent times.
And Ferdinand said: “Carrasco, will you get him? Draxler, who is surplus at PSG. You need those players that draw two or three out of positions. At the moment if you shut down Kane you go a long way to shutting down this Tottenham team. Mahrez even, someone like that.”
Carrasco has actually struggled to maintain his place in Atletico Madrid’s starting line-up this term, but the Belgian is considered to be one of the brightest attacking talents across Europe.
Draxler, meanwhile, has been eased out of PSG’s starting line-up due to the wealth of quality which has arrived at the French club recently.
The signings of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have demoted Draxler, and the German international could now be available.
Mahrez, meanwhile, is the most familiar name to Premier League fans and he looks to be back to his very best at Leicester City.
Mahrez could now want to make the step up for a title chasing team, and Spurs are thought to have been long-term admirers of the Algerian international.
