Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Jack Ruddy is set to join Ayr United in Scotland in the January transfer window, according to The Daily Record (Transfer live blog, 17:43, Thursday, January 11, 2018).
According to the report, the 20-year-old goalkeeper is awaiting international clearance ahead of the League One game against Raith Rovers on Saturday.
The 20-year-old is a very talented player, but he has yet to make his breakthrough into the Wanderers’ first team.
There is fierce competition for places in the Wolves’ first-team squad, and it makes sense for Ruddy to join Ayr on loan for the rest of the season.
Wolves are at the top of the Championship table in England at the moment, while Ayr are currently second in the standings in the Scottish League One.
