Guillem Balague suggests Antoine Griezmann to Liverpool won’t happen

Guillem Balague has suggested to Sky Sports that Antoine Griezmann will not join Liverpool from Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window.

According to Sky Sports, Liverpool are favourites to sign Griezmann this month with odds of 6/1 in their favour.

Well-known Spanish football journalist Balague has suggested that the 26-year-old forward will not move to the Reds.

Balague told Sky Sports when asked about the prospect of Griezmann joining Liverpool: “I thought at this stage, people who follow transfers would be bright enough to understand when they are being led astray.

“When there are serious matters at play, it is nonsense. Griezmann to Liverpool is absolute nonsense.”

Griezmann is one of the best players in the world and has been on the books of Atletico since 2014 when he joined from Real Sociedad for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £24 million.

The France international forward is world class and would be a great signing for any club in the world.

The 26-year-old has scored five goals and provided four assists in 15 La Liga appearances for Atletico so far this season, according to WhoScored.

During the 2016-17 campaign, the former Sociedad star scored 16 goals and provided eight assists 36 league games for the Madrid club, according to WhoScored.
