Do West Ham United need to sign a striker in the January transfer window?
Moyes, though, has suggested that it could change in the next couple of weeks in the January transfer window.
“The agents are working hard naturally but, in terms of strikers, I don’t necessarily believe we need another one this month,” Moyes wrote in The London Evening Standard.
“This can change in the next couple of weeks but right now, there are other areas of the squad which I would look at first.”
Moyes’s comments are quite interesting, and perhaps they suggest that the West Ham manager does not want to lose any of the strikers he has in his squad.
Javier Hernandez has struggled to make an impact at the London Stadium since his move from German club Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2017, Andy Carroll is injury-prone, while Diafro Sakho and Andre Ayew have yet to show that they can be a consistent goalscorer in the Premier League.
However, Moyes’s comments suggest that West Ham are not willing to sell any striker at the moment, but perhaps if the London club find someone better in the coming weeks, then they could well make a move.
