Leeds United yesterday announced the signing of Oliver Sarkic on a permanent deal, days after his loan agreement had expired.

Sarkic joins from Benfica after a successful loan spell, which saw him score four times in the first part of the campaign for the under-23s.

He was Leeds' most consistent striker for the under-23s, and his experience playing for Benfica in the UEFA Youth League is paying off.

With summer signing Jay-Roy Grot struggling for first team action and disappointing when he does get a chance, Sarkic could have an opportunity to switch places with the Dutchman.

He started and scored yesterday in Leeds' 4-3 under-23 win over Hull City, and fans are keen to see more of what he can do.

Sarkic is not the experienced striker Leeds need, but he could go on to have a major impact, and anything he contributes this season is a bonus.
